Beijing Guanghua New City Residential Area – Excavation Support

Beijing, China

The Project of Guanghua New City Residential Area is located in No. 4 Da Jiao Ting, Chaoyang District, Beijing. The foundation pit of the project has a circumference of 317m, an area of 4,300m2, an excavation depth of 13.33-18.33m, and a design life of 1 year. The construction started on August 25, 2015 and completed on July 30, 2016.
Maximum excavation depth: 18.5m, with four prestressed anchor cables. Support system: composite soil nailing wall, pile-anchor combined support. After treatment, the overall bearing capacity of the foundation reaches 260kPa.

Jinping I Hydropower Station – Left Dam Abutment Slope Support

Sichuan, China

The project is located in Yanyuan and Muli counties of Liangshan, Sichuan Province. The Jinping First-level hydropower station has a total installed capacity of 3.6 million kilowatts (6 x 600 million kilowatts) and a total storage capacity of 7.76 billion cubic meters. The complex consists of permanent structures such as water retaining, drainage and energy dissipation, and water diversion for power generation. The concrete double-curved arch dam, 305 meters high, is the world's first double-curved arch dam. Our company was mainly responsible for the support and maintenance work of area III above the cabling platform, including anchor cable, anchor rod, anchor rebar, drainage hole, net spraying and other work items. The construction began in September 2005 and was completed in October 2007.

The project is characterized by complex geological conditions, harsh construction environment, numerous construction projects, extremely high construction volume and intensity, and extremely tight construction period. It is a world-class problem recognized by many experts and academicians. Mainly completed works: 20863m of anchor cable drilling (maximum hole depth of 120m), 1715 anchor rods, 7050m of drainage holes, and 1268m of anchor beams. The project adopted deep hole anchor cable construction technology. The project won the "2018-2019 National Quality Engineering Gold Award", "Fifteenth China Civil Engineering Zhan Tianyou Award" and "Fidic Engineering Project Outstanding Achievement Award".

Lianghekou Hydroelectric Dam Project II – Flood Discharge Tunnel Inlet Support

Sichuan, China

The Lianghekou hydropower station is located on the Yalong River in Yajiang County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The hydropower station is located on the Yalong River in the middle and lower reaches of the River. It has a storage capacity of 10.154 billion cubic meters and is built as a gravel and earth core rockfill dam. The key building of the power station is composed of rock dam with gravel soil core, spillway, spillway tunnel, discharge hole, underground workshop and so on. Our company mainly undertakes the supporting project of the entrance slope of left bank flood discharge structures (including deep hole flood discharge tunnel, flood discharge hole, hydro cyclone shaft flood discharge tunnel and No. 3 diversion tunnel). The project was started on December 16, 2013 and completed on June 30, 2017.

The anchor cable supports are scattered in the 606m slope range, the geological conditions are complex and changeable, the rock fractured area is difficult to form holes, the grouting quality requirements are high, the vertical slope safety risk is high, and the construction is difficult. The cut-off, drainage ditch and frame beams of this project are widely distributed, small in size, steep slope, long concrete pipeline, and many auxiliary measures and temporary facilities. The placement of the sloped concrete support is carried out in many places on the vertical surface, which is difficult to construct and requires high craftsmanship. The main works include: 4063 bundles of anchor cables; 23500m3 of shotcrete with net hanging; 80,000 bundles of anchor rods; 33,000m3 of concrete pouring.
